ABOUT ME
Hi folks, I'm James and I originate from the North East, growing up in Tyneside before doing my Bachelors degree in Glasgow and then my Masters in Manchester, both in music performance. Prior to setting up this page I was building a music career, but sadly persistent injuries have stagnated this, so I am putting all of my passion and love into the theatre, which has been a part of my life consistently since I was a teenager.

My first ever job was at the Whitley Bay Playhouse in Tyneside, and whilst studying for my Masters I worked front of house at the Manchester Palace and Opera House, and it's here where my love of theatre began to grow, especially towards the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020. Whilst a regular performer, I played cello in many pit orchestras for various productions, including My Fair Lady, Oliver, Into The Woods, Jekyll & Hyde, Singing In The Rain and The Last Five Years.

As a musician, I feel like my main strength, especially when it comes to writing about musicals, is score analysis, and being able to centre my content on how well a story is being told through the music. Also as someone with autism, I like to think I generally have quite an analytical mind, so I am able to look at theatre from multiple different angles, and feel like I keep as open a mind as possible.
